 Our Annual Show will again be held in conjunction with the Northumberland County Show on Monday 31st May  2010. This year there will be an additional class for a stick made by a lady. Full details can be obtained by contacting our Show Secretary, Sue Stephenson, Tel No. 01890 817119.

The AGM will be held at 2pm on Saturday 16th October 2010 at the Woodstone Community Centre, Fencehouses, County Durham by the kind invitation of Tom Keers and the Durham Stickmakers. Please put the date in your diary to attend, you will be able to see what facilities the Durham Stickmakers have developed in the Community Centre.

The 2010 Newsletter went out by email on 1st January 2010 to those members who had indicated that the would like to receive it in the manner, unfortunately  ten were not delivered because the were identified as having an invalid email address. If you have not received your Newsletter or have changed your email address during the past year please contact me.

The implications of Statutory Instrument 2007 No. 2264, The Further Education Teachers' Qualifications (England) Regulations 2007 which will be brought into being in the near future for courses funded or partially funded by the Learning Skills Council (LSC) are still ongoing and I will be pursueing them with the new government ministers

Until now the tutors have been selected for their ability to make sticks  and their communication skills to pass on their knowledge, however in the future they will need a 7303 Certificate, which is the equivalent of a GCE' A' Level.
